Susan Speer has built a career around public affairs, corporate communications, marketing and PR. Starting out as a journalist, she quickly segued into military public affairs at an overseas post, and later, into corporate communications and marketing roles for USAA. In private practice as a communications and marketing consultant, Susan has managed national projects and campaign strategy for household brands, including USAA, AFLAC, MasterCard, VISA, American Express, as well as affinity marketing relationships with dozens of other major brands. As a freelance journalist, Susan has worked with corporate clients such as USAA, AFLAC and Zachry, as well as writing for custom publishers, newspapers, magazines and online outlets. She’s received industry awards from the International Association of Business Communicators and the Texas Public Relations Association.
